Jackie Schiel is the inventor of the Blanketed Pet Bed and founder of Plush Pet Company. She resides in Mission Viejo, California with her family and three dogs. After years of witnessing her Yorkshire Terrier Fergie’s nesting behavior, she was inspired to create the Blanketed Pet Bed.

Like many pets, Fergie has an instinctual desire to create a safe and comfortable sleeping space. He would build beds using any soft material he could get his paws on. He would nestle into laundry baskets and snuggle in Jackie’s bed, however, he was notorious for taking Jackie’s nice blankets right off her lap! Then he would begin his nesting ritual of digging, fluffing, and spinning a few times before he was satisfied.

Fergie was content, but Jackie wasn’t. She tried to understand why he was doing this, and why was his pet bed going unused? Most importantly, how could she get him to stop using her beautiful blankets? The solution was simple, the Blanketed Pet Bed – a soft, comfortable, adjustable surface built into a pet bed.

The Blanketed Pet Bed fulfilled Fergie’s desire to nest and he was finally satisfied with a sleeping space that was truly his, and Jackie was able to reclaim her blankets.
